Coventry inductees into 100 Women in Cycling

Each year since 2017 Cycling UK have inducted 100 women who have done exceptional things within cycling into the 100 Women in Cycling ‘roll of honour’.

To celebrate Coventry & District 6 inductees we arranged a photoshoot at Coventry Transport Museum.

Val Ravenhill, Shona Hudson, Vicky Palethorpe, Marina Friend & Iona O’Donnell are photographed with Eileen Sheridan’s record-breaking cycle.

Eileen of course is the 6th member of our exclusive club.

Eileen was sponsored by Hercules Cycles and the Hercules Cycle picture broke two records in the same ride.

In June 1954 she rode from Lands’ End to John O’ Groats in 2 days, 11 hours & 7 minutes, setting a new ‘End to End’ record.

After a couple of hours break Eileen re-mounted her bike, rode another 200 miles of so to set a second record, this time for 1000 miles.
