You could probably classify last Sundays ride as a Heinz 57 Varieties route ! – Rough track, Cycle paths, Greenway, Farm tracks, Bridleways, Gravel tracks,Canal Tow path, Trail centre, Fast roads, and Quiet Lanes – along with refreshments in a medieval hospice ….. a real smorgasbord of cycling experiences !
Thirteen of us did this wonderfully varied ride out towards Warwick via Kenilworth and Wedgenock, and returned via St Nicholas Park, Newbold Comyn, Burnthurst, and Bubbenhall. Luckily enough all the riders were really up for everything and revelled in the mixed conditions. They all worked together well as a group and made leading a ride with 13 people on it very manageable (with backmarker support from Bob) – thank you !
New to the Club was using the cafe at the Lord Leycester Hospital in Wawick. A very distinctive and evocative setting which delivered really good food.
By the time we reached Newbold Comyn people were feeling so good that loads of us had a go at a couple of the tracks at the Trail Centre – with lots of smiles and laughs …. and comments about possibly doing some more sometime.
