Air Ambulance – 2024 Update

From Dave Hearn ….

This week the Club had it’s third visit in as many years to the Midlands Air Ambulance Service at Coventry Airport to pass on all of your generous donations.  This years cheque was for £1,600.

We were taken into the Air Ambulance building and given a brief talk about the work they do. We were met by Sally Newman, the local Fundraising Executive, who welcomed us enthusiastically. A female colleague gave us a detailed description of the day to day running of the service. Sally joined us outside for a photo shoot with one of the Paramedics and one of the pilots who showed us inside the aircraft and answered our questions.

Sally has agreed to present a talk next winter at a Clubroom evening.

The charity does not receive funding from the Government for its daily missions so relies entirely on the support and generosity of local people and businesses.

And finally to see why this is a very relevant charity for us to support please take a look at this link to see how the Air Ambulance from Coventry recently aided a cyclist – https://wmas.nhs.uk/2024/06/07/cyclist-seriously-injured-in-kidderminster-collision/
